One of the unique features of our practice, Healthy Eye Center, is that first our Optometrists and staff provide more than just regular eye exams for eyeglass and/or contact lens prescription. We perform numerous screening tests for eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and "lazy eye." We treat a number of eye conditions such as minor infection, dry eye symptom, allergic reaction, computer vision syndrome. We also provide eye surgery consultation, and general eye health education.

Another uniqueness of our practice is that our Optometrists together have a broad knowledge in Science and extensive experience in eye care. Dr. Deric Simmons, O.D., has 20+ years of practice experience. He is a "native" of Southern California and is well known and highly respected by local communities and by his fellow Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. The Healthy Eye Center location has been the same for 20+ years, under the direction of Dr. Deric Simmons. Dr. Johan Tran, Ph.D., O.D., was involved in teaching and research for 10+ years at many Universities and Medical Centers (including UC San Diego, West Virginia University, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, . . . ) in the field of Molecular Biology. Dr. Johan Tran has been in the Optometric practice for 12+ years. Both Dr. Tran and Dr. Simmons speak Spanish, and Dr. Tran also speaks French fluently. We believe that our Doctor's combined broad knowledge in Science, extensive clinical experience and strong communication skills allow them to understand in detail the biology of the eye, keep them current with new advances in the treatment of eye diseases and eye care technology, and help them clearly explain to you your eye health and vision conditions.

In addition to the above features, we carry a wide selection of spectacles and contact lenses, and we constantly update our product inventory. Our products range from high quality, cost-friendly eyewear for the practical customers, to the eccentric fashionable frames and lenses for the sophisticated patrons. Our friendly staff will assist you in the selection of the eyewear of your style. Our contact lens products include daily, weekly and monthly disposable contacts, astigmatism correction contacts, multi-focal contacts, and color contacts.If you have never been to our practice before, please come and visit us at the Healthy Eye Center. Eyeglass adjustments are always free and encouraged. We are happy to answer questions regarding your eye care needs either in person or by phone. As a full scope optometry practice, eye health problems can often be treated at our office without the need for a referral, and may be covered through your PPO medical insurance.

Urgent treatment may sometimes be necessary for eye infections, foreign bodies or other conditions. During regular office hours we will get you in immediately. We are available at all times in case of emergency and can be reached through the contact number on our answering machine.

If you have vision insurance, please determine the name of your vision insurance carrier before your appointment.This is generally not the same as your health insurance even though it is offered in conjunction with it. Please check to see if we are on the list of providers and please have the ID or social security number of the primary insured available as well as your group number. If a specific claim form is needed for your plan, please obtain one before your appointment. If your insurance changes, please notify us so we may update your records.
